Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the Next Top Aspiring Model competition and why would I be interested?
Next Top Aspiring Model is an annual competition for those who want to try modeling or is just getting started in a modeling career. It is a competition where one can gain experience, be in an environment with other like minded individuals, practice modeling skills, and have fun while competing to win money and prizes.
I am a part time model or consider myself a professional. Is this competition for me?
If you model regularly and earn more than 50% of your income doing so, then you would not qualify to win prizes for the competition (why would you want an ‘Aspiring Model’ title anyway? You’re an accomplished model!).
On the other hand, you may still participate in the competition as it is a good opportunity to test yourself, sharpen your skills, and build your portfolio. When you apply, please let our staff know that you are a professional and in it for the experience only.
How will you determine the winner?
We have a judging panel consisting of fashion industry professionals. Competitors will be assessed on how well they perform and in any of the following areas: runway, catalog, beauty, creative, and acting.
Will my height or weight affect my score?
Height and weight are not factors although competitors will be assessed on how well they understand their own physical strengths and constraints.
Is the competition really free and is there any obligation to purchase products and services? What is the catch?
Yes it is a free competition! We do provide optional services at prices largely in your favour and there is no pressure to purchase anything and we will not approach you to buy.
What optional services do you offer?
Before the competition we will send you a list of optional services such as professional hair and makeup. You will also be given information about ordering prints and photo retouching. These services are completely optional and you will not be pressured into spending money. These are available for your convenience and are provided at substantially reduced rates.
If I do not order hair and makeup services will I be at a disadvantage?
Preparing yourself with appropriate hair and make up is especially important if you want to consider buying photos for your portfolio. You may come already prepared or book our professional services. Either way you will not be judged on how good your makeup looks.
Okay there must be a catch so what is it?
Really there is no catch! Check out our past winners online at www.NextTopAspiringModel.com and read about their experiences. You can also watch video summaries of the competition and the NTAM Awards.
Why is there a limited number of applicants accepted? And how do you determine who qualifies?
We receive hundreds of applications and we do review all qualified applications (i.e. received by deadline and properly completed). In the interest of completing the competition in a timely and efficient manner we must cap the number of qualified competitors.
When and how will I know if I have been accepted into the competition?
All qualified participants will be notified by email and their names will be posted by August 10, 2011 on our website at www.NextTopAspiringModel.com.
When will you announce the winner?
The winner of Next Top Aspiring Model Toronto 2011 will be announced on our website and we’ll also be sending a press release to all our subscribers.

Congratulations Sabrina Idukpaye!
