Next Top Aspiring Model (NTAM) 2011 Results…

Okay so these aren’t quite the final results, but here’s an exciting summary of what went down…

There was a lot of nervous energy as the girls prepared for the competition. The aspiring models were tested on their ability for a beauty shot, creative, runway, and video commercial. We snuck a photo of Jiamin (top photo) rehearsing for the video commercial with her dad in full support (we later interviewed him but he was totally shy!). Some other models waited nervously (left photo) for their call to the competition floor. Meanwhile, Chadia (bottom and right photo) along with other models got their full fashion makeover to give them that extra edge for the competition.

For the beauty shot the girls were asked to show variety and energy in the eyes. Carling (top photo) is showing her beautiful smile while Nadia (bottom photo) is staring down our fabulous photographer Michael.

The set for the creative challenge this year featured an upcoming Torontonian artist named Mandeep Gill (check out her radical website for more examples of her digital abstract art at www.mewa.ca). The challenge for the contestants was to pose while being blinded by complex digital abstract art. Cassandra (left photo) and Karen (right photo) are striking a pose – who is better? You decide!

Arguably the toughest part of the competition was the video commercial. The girls had to memorize a long script and shine through with their personality without stumbling. Easier said than done! Bianca here, however, is cool as a cat as she delivers her act.

Finally, the girls finished off with the runway. Thought it would have been easy? Surprise! We had the girls strut their stuff in style with a book on their head. Did Carling manage to keep the book on her head the whole time?

Congratulations to all the aspiring models that participated in the competition. The tests were tough and I’ll bet even supermodels would shudder at the thought of having to go through them. You rose to the challenge with great courage and you are all commend for your beautiful efforts!

Wondering When the NTAM 2011 Winner Will be Announced?

The judges are currently tabulating the scores and we’ll find out shortly who the finalists are. We’re hoping to announce the winners at the NTAM Awards and Fashion show in October so stay tuned for more information!
